Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personally Identifying Information
When you open an account on Resume Builder Online, we collect some basic personal information. At a minimum you must provide us with your first and last name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone, and email address. You may choose to fill out the rest of the sections ("Education," "Certifications," "Work Experience,") so that we may generate a resume for you. This information is voluntary, but without it we cannot create a resume for you. You may provide any information in these sections so long as you comply with our Terms and Conditions.
When you register on our site, you consent to the use and disclosure of your personally identifying information as described above.
Occasionally we may use the email address you provided us with during registration to send you relevant information and notifications. We will never contact you via telephone or mailing address; we ask for these only to help create your resume. We may sometimes contact you regarding your account, payment information or our services via your email address. We reserve the right to do this whether or not you opt into or out of our other email notifications.
While we respect your privacy, we will disclose personally identifying information in the following circumstances:
- When it is required by law or to protect rights, whether yours or someone else's. If we feel we must disclose your information as part of an investigation or for the prevention of wrongdoing or illegal activity or to protect our company's rights or the rights of users or other people, we will do so. If we are required to do so by law enforcement, we will comply.
- Marketing communications. We offer you the chance to opt out of receiving marketing emails when you register. If you do not opt out, we will email you with products, services, or offers we believe will interest you, and may also provide your email information to third parties. These third parties may choose to contact you directly. You may opt out of our marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our email messages or by going to your account settings and disabling marketing communications. You may also contact us directly and request we unsubscribe you. These procedures will also opt you out of future emails from third parties you are not already receiving communications from. If you are already receiving emails from third parties, you must contact those companies directly. We cannot unsubscribe you from their emails, so you will need to follow their procedures.
Changing Personally Identifying Information or Closing Your Account
You may alter the personally identifying information in your account at any time using your account settings. You also may use the account settings to permanently close your account. Another way to do this is to contact us directly. When we receive your request to close your account, we will delete your information along with your account. We will retain some personally identifiable information as required to comply with legal inquiries, troubleshoot problems, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
The information you provide us with is used to deliver the products or services you have requested from our website. This may include the resume we generate for you, marketing offers, and troubleshooting. We also may use your information in situations involving fraud prevention or legal enforcement. At times we may use the information to identify whether you are using multiple accounts or to verify the accuracy of that information. We may use any financial information or payment methods you provide in order to process payments for services you have ordered or in conjunction with fraud investigations.
Gathering, Use, and Disclosure of Non-Personally Identifying Information
Non-personally identifying information is any information that cannot be directly associated with a specific person. Some examples include cookies, information web browsers provide to us (such as the browser and version and your operating system), and the routes you use to navigate our website or where you arrived from. We regularly analyze this information so we can understand how users are navigating and making use of our website. This enables us to improve user experience by improving navigability and content. We may sometimes release this information in usage reports. It cannot be linked to you as an individual.
Sharing Aggregated Non-Personally Identifying Information
At times we may release aggregated information such as cookies, site usage, number of visitors per day, or popular features with third parties. This information does not contain personally identifying data. The purpose of doing this is to help deliver useful and relevant marketing promotions to you via email. This is done as a service to you, and will never compromise your privacy.
Part of protecting your personally identifying information is having a secure website. As such, we take all reasonable measures to protect your information against alteration, theft, loss, or any other abuse. These measures include secure socket layer (SSL) technology to protect your data in transit, but we cannot eliminate all threats or risks. We do not share your personally identifying information within our company except on a need to know basis. We also are not responsible for the security systems (or lack of security systems) for third parties or for third party privacy policies or resulting disclosures. We suggest you look at the privacy policies of any third party companies yourself so that you know how they may use your information.
